THAI Smile is a new service by THAI with a fleet of all new Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 2 classes of service; ‘Smile’ Economy Class and ‘Smile Plus’ short haul business class service. Dedicated cabin crew who are refreshingly young, vibrant and friendly will provide the same service excellence as you experience with THAI.
THAI Smile will operate under the same Airline Operator Certificate, TG with 3 digit flight numbers starting with 7 on routes within Thailand, and to selected international destinations within 1-3 hours flight time from its hub at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, providing smooth connections with THAI and Star Alliance member airlines. For example, TG750 Bangkok-Macau begins operations on 07 July 2012.

These 5 words form the basis of the THAI Smile concept and service, and drew inspiration and influence from contemporary Thai culture, people, landscapes and colours.
Vibrant: The primary colour palate of aircraft livery, cabin interiors and crew uniforms is based on THAI corporate colours. These have been re-interpreted into vibrant purple, magenta and yellow, inspired by the bright hues found in Thailand’s markets and street life. A new fourth colour, tangerine, has been added to differentiate THAI Smile, inspired by the sunset so representative of Thailand.
Fun: The handwriting of the word “Smile” creates a more social and approachable identity, one that has wider appeal in younger demographics, THAI Smiles target market.
Speedy: Exposure of light from moving cars at night in fast-paced Bangkok inspired the striped fabrics for the cabin interiors.
Trendy: Trend elements were applied to things that can be easily be changed over time, such as cabin accessories and crew uniforms.
Friendly: The smile of Thais is legendary and emblematic around the world of the welcoming nature of the Thai people. The name THAI Smile was chosen to reflect this, along with the warm and friendly attitude of the crew and all those associated with THAI Smile service.
With THAI Smile you will enjoy many of the complimentary services provided by THAI, instant online booking, mobile and airport check-in facilities, checked baggage allowances and inflight meals, snacks and beverages, depending on the class of service flown, all provided with a genuine smile.
Fleet
The THAI Smile fleet will consist of 11 brand new Airbus A320-200 aircraft, ideally suited for fuel efficient short haul travel.
‘Smile’ Economy Class consists of up to 156 seats, 3 seats abreast in 2 rows divided by a single aisle.
‘Smile Plus’ short haul business class service in the first rows of the aircraft for easy access features 16 seats on international flights and 12 seats on domestic flights. In each row the middle seat is always empty, providing more space and comfort for those traveling in ‘Smile Plus’.
Four aircraft will be delivered in 2012 with the first arrival in June.
Route network
THAI Smile will commence operations on 07 July 2012 with a new destination, Macau, with twice daily non-stop service.
Commencing in August, THAI Smile will begin operating on routes within Thailand, providing travelers with a fun, speedy and friendly option when flying to Thailand’s most popular destinations.
