Thai Smile has been awarded the Aviation Operation Certificate (AOC) from Department of Civil Aviation recently on March 31, 2014. We will operate air transportation under the new airline code "WE", followed by 3 digit flight numbers for domestic flights from April 10, 2014 onwards whereas the airline code for international flights remain the same, with 4 digit flight numbers beginning with the number 2.
Mr. Chokchai Panyayong, Acting President of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), states that Thai Smile is a new flight service from Thai Airways International with a model of products and services that fulfils customers’ need, especially for passengers who want to travel short distance for a maximum of 4 hours. The brand character is under the concept “Trendy-Friendly-Worthy”, relating to the modern lifestyle of the new generation. There are two classes of flight service available, which are Smile PLUS and Smile, serviced by a new aircraft, Airbus A320-200. Passengers in the Smile PLUS class service will experience wider seats for better comfort, enjoy complimentary hot meal and refreshment, obtain baggage weight allowance of a maximum of 30 kilograms and access to the privilege lounge at the airport. The Smile class service offers complimentary snacks and drinks and baggage weight allowance of 20 kilograms. All passengers in every class can also select seats for free and earn miles with the Royal Orchid Plus programme from THAI.
Furthermore, Smile Girls are ready to assist THAI and Thai Smile passengers at the check-in counter at Rows E11-E19 at Suvarnabhumi Airport. They can advise passengers on checking-in via the internet or iCheck-in with the iPad on www.thaiairways.com and www.thaismileair.com as well as the self check-in service (Kiosk Check-in) to save time from queuing up at the check-in counter.
Currently, Thai Smile operates 10 round-trip domestic routes which are Bangkok-Chiang Mai, Bangkok-Chiang Rai, Bangkok- Khon Kaen, Bangkok-Udon Thani, Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani, Bangkok-Surat Thani, Bangkok- Krabi, Bangkok-Phuket, Bangkok-Hat Yai, Chiang Mai-Phuket and 7 round-trip regional routes which are Bangkok-Macau, Bangkok-Mandalay, Bangkok-Chongqing, Bangkok-Changsha, Bangkok-Colombo, Bangkok-Hyderabad, Bangkok-Phnom Pehn and Bangkok-New Delhi. Commencing from October 26, 2014, a round-trip flight, Bangkok-Vientiane, will be on service as a new destination for Thai Smile.
