The Ministry of Transport and related agencies joined hands with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and private agencies to hold the “Klai Kangwol Musical on the Beach” and exhibition as a commemoration and a show of loyalty and appreciation for Their Majesties the King and Queen and on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s 88th Birthday Anniversary in 2015, following the first performance in 2013.
Minister of Transport Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong speaks about the objective of the musical and the exhibition, saying, “I found out that for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Transport in 2013, the ministry held the ‘Klai Kangwon Musical on the Beach’ and exhibition at the Queen’s Park in Hua Hin District to commemorate Their Majesties the King and Queen. That was the first-ever musical held by the beach and greatly impressed the audience who were treated to a review of the hard work and dedication Their Majesties the King and Queen have for the Thai population. In 2015, to mark the 88th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King, the Ministry of Transport and related agencies, as well as the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and the private sector will be presenting the ‘Klai Kangwon Musical on the Beach’ once again. This will provide the opportunity for Thais to show their loyalty and appreciation for Their Majesties the King and Queen’s hard work and dedication to bring peace and prosperity to the country and its people. The Ministry of Transport would also like to commemorate His Majesty’s accomplishments for the transportation sector.”
Permanent-Secretary for Transport Mrs. Soithip Traisuth, as chairman of the committee organizing the “Klai Kangwon Musical on the Beach,” says the event can be divided into two parts: the “Klai Kangwon Musical on the Beach” and the “Love of the King for All Thais” exhibition. She says, “The return of the ‘Klai Kangwon Musical on the Beach’ will see several new additions such as famous singers and musicians as part of the cast, an updated script to suit the current situation, an expansion of the beachside scene for added splendor, better viewing from all seats in the house, improved lighting for each scene, improved acoustics, and the addition of a live orchestra performance so the audience can feel the love and compassion Their Majesties the King and Queen have for all Thais amidst the Hua Hin beach backdrop. Moreover, the number of seats have been increased. The performance will be held by the beach at the Queen’s Park in Hua Hin District, Prachuab Khiri Khan Province from Wednesday, January 28-Sunday, February 1, 2015, with one performance a day from 7-10 PM.”
As for the “Love of the King for All Thais” exhibition, the Ministry of Transport will be showcasing His Majesty the King’s life from since His Majesty was young and details of His Majesty’s Royal Works for the Thai public in the past seven decades since ascending the throne. The exhibition is divided into nine zones, namely: “Family…the Start of Love,” “Love Is Beautiful,” “Love Generates Creation,” “Love Breeds Knowledge,” “Love of the King Develops the Country and Gathers the Hearts of All Thais,” “Love of the King Develops the People,” “The Road of Love,” “Love of the King Develops Sufficiency,” and “Beautiful Love in Simplicity.”
Each zone of the exhibition also has photo opportunities so visitors can feel as if they are a part of the exhibition. The audience of the musical and visitors to the exhibition will receive a special postcard souvenir of rare images of His Majesty the King while working and visiting various locales.
